Port mogul Razon builds one of biggest quarantine facility in PH

Port magnate Enrique Razon has built and funded one of the biggest COVID-19 quarantine facilities in the Philippines and it can hold as many as 600 patients’ beds.

A statement showed that Prime Metro BMD Corporation (PrimeBMD), Razon Group’s construction arm, has just completed the Mega Quarantine Facility in Paranaque City.

Prime Metro BMD Corporation is a joint venture between one of Australia’s largest family-owned construction companies, BMD International, and Enrique K. Razon Jr.’s Prime Metroline Infrastructure Holdings.

Built in close coordination with Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), Department of Health (DOH) and COVID-19 Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF), the Mega Quarantine facility is funded by the Razon Group and Bloomberry Cultural Foundation, Inc.

To date, the facility holds 600 patient’s beds, 10 support tents, associated amenities including onsite laundry and visitor parking areas.

Razon, who serves as chairman of PrimeBMD, has so far funded three of the country’s quarantine facilities, including this recently completed Mega Quarantine Facility and those in Rizal Stadium and the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

Facilities for testing were also put up in other properties of Razon, including Solaire Resort, the Palacio de Maynila and Enderun .

PrimeBMD specializes in the construction of major transport and urban development infrastructure for private and government clients in the Philippines.

Its expertise includes the construction of roads and bridges, marine infrastructure and dredging services, airport infrastructure, building works, water and wastewater infrastructure, rail infrastructure, and commercial/residential land subdivision projects.
